Having tracked the progress of the Russian fleet since their departure from the Sverdomorsk naval base in Northern Russia, Chris, Tom and myself finally caught up with them in the Dover Strait aboard Mutiny Diving's charter boat "Maverick" on Friday 21st October 2016. It wasn't a sight we will forget! These pictures have been used by the press and media globally. Here's a selection from the day. Please note that in common with all the imagery on the website, these images remain the copyright of www.dover-marina.com. For reproduction fees please enquire.
Pride of the Russian fleet, the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov steams slowly through the Dover Strait.
Some of the aircraft ranged on her deck included Flanker strike aircraft and Black Shark helicopters.
The nuclear powered battlecruiser Peter the Great formed part of the carrier group.
The Udaloy class anti-submarine destroyer Vice-Admiral Kulakov (626) was one of two such vessels forming part of the group. She is caught here passing the White Cliffs of Dover.
In addition to the ships depicted here, the fleet was escorted during it's voyage by many other vessels from NATO affiliated countries. More imagery is available upon request.
