The website was set up in September 2013 to share news, views and photography and encourage people who enjoy their hobby and surroundings to get involved. I
hope that there is something to interest everyone, berth holders, port users and visitors alike.
The main aim of dover-marina.com has always been to create a sense of community for the berh holders, to bring people together and have a greater insight into all aspects of our busy port and other local attractions such as the castle and our iconic white cliffs. Dover has so much more to offer than at first glance and I hope the website promotes this.
For fellow berth holders like myself, one of the aims was engage with fellow boaties and to encourage others to get involved and take an interest in the many aspects of our surroundings.
The creation of the Facebook page linked to the website has proved popular, proving that Social Media is a powerful tool that some, perhaps, are reluctant to use in a positive way. With truly international support and interest as a direct result, I am pleased to say this was a good choice!
A much wider public audience has now developed as interest in the site has grown tremendously with followers and supporters from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Austria, Poland, Croatia, Bosnia & Hercegovina, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Kosovo, Greece, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Iraq, Bangladesh and Pakistan. I much appreciate all your support, input and interest as this is what the site is all about.
Enjoy the website and please get involved. Tell me what you think, what you like (and don't like !) and what you would like to see. If you can suggest a page or content, please get in touch.
Thank you all for your continued support, log on again soon!
